My phenomenal experience of Medium Day
Yesterday, I spend half a day or more attending Medium Day for the first time. I was wowed by the wide variety of topics and the depth each session provided.
Tony’s (the CEO) keynote was my favorite not just because of who he is — his authentic nature came right across Zoom — but the way he painted a picture of what Medium is and what it is becoming. It seems to be a very member oriented, values grounded and organic organization (or un-organization?) geared towards quality human stories. And as a writer and blogger that so appeals to me! He used a very powerful metaphor to describe Medium:
Its a platform for billions of wisdom exchanges a day!!!
I wish I had graphic skills — I would love to depict this idea visually! Oh wait, maybe some of the recorded sessions might lead me to some publications or people who can help! Yay!
Every session I attended gave me gems and tips that I wrote down- my notebook is overflowing with ideas and things to do going forward! e.g. niching down- something I desperately need to do as my stories are all over the place and inspired by my experiences as they happen. I learned about some of the key publications on Medium, and understood a bit better how publications work. I learned so many tips about writing, about publishing…
